Frequently Asked Questions

How secure are Datcrazy Temporary Notes?

Security is paramount. We use client-side AES-256 encryption, meaning your note is encrypted on *your* device before transmission. The decryption key is only present in the URL fragment (`#...`), which browsers don't send to servers. We only store encrypted data, which self-destructs after one view or expiry. While we secure the transit and storage, remember to share the link responsibly.

Can the recipient copy the note content?

Yes. Once decrypted, the note is just text in their browser. They can copy it, screenshot it, etc. The "self-destruct" feature ensures the note is deleted from *our server* after the first view, preventing the *link* from being reused and minimizing data remnants online. It doesn't control the recipient's actions.

Can I view the note after sending the link?

No. The system is designed for one-time viewing by the recipient only. Once viewed successfully, it's permanently deleted. Make sure you have any copy you need *before* creating the note.

What data do you store?

We temporarily store only the *encrypted* note content, its expiry time, a unique ID, and optionally, a securely hashed version of the password (not the password itself). This is all permanently deleted upon viewing or expiry. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
